Funding the Culture of the Few

I am so grateful for the generosity of people who believe in me and the message of the Culture of the Few.  The feedback that we have received from our test readers has been encouraging and humbling.  I am excited to LAUNCH this book together with friends and partners like you.  I really do appreciate your consideration of my request.

Understanding the Funding Process

Because I am reaching out to you with this request for help, I want to be very clear about how we hope to raise funds to LAUNCH Culture of the Few.

  1. Partners and Friends - We are quietly reaching out to a relatively small group who we believe have a value for making disciples and raising up leaders.  It is our goal to raise the $20,000 by contacting around 200 partners and friends.  (GOAL: Raise funds by Nov. 30)
  2. CrowdFunding - After we have raised enough to cover the first printing, we plan to use KickStarter to help publicly launch and pre-sale the book.  We believe that this kind of platform would allow us to distribute the book in a way that matches the message of the book.  As books are sold through KickStarter, we plan to announce the development of other resources such as a workbook, mobile app and a complete resource packs that will mirror the content of Culture of the Few.
  3. Book Release - In addition to using KickStarter to pre-sale the book, we have already had requests from several bookstores and churches requesting copies of the book.  We plan will also make the book available for sale through Amazon and other online sites that sell books.

How Much Should You Give?

Please feel free to give whatever amount that you would like.  Every gift matters and will help us reach our goals.  For every gift of $15 we will sow a copy of the Culture of the Few (up to 1,000 copies) into a developing leader.  Listed below are several Suggested Giving Amounts that reflect how leaders may use the book to equip and empower those that they are leading.

$60 - Pastor's Huddle: 4 Copies

I have been humbled by the response of local church leaders who have shared with us that they believe the the Culture of the Few will help them cultivate a disciple making culture in their churches.  We are encouraging these pastors to read through the book with 3-5 leaders from their churches.

$225 - Simple Church / Small Group: 15 Copies

Many of the stories from the book were birthed in small, organic communities of believers.  These simple expressions of the church are often filled with those who want to see the good news of Jesus spread to people who do not know Him.  A gift of $225 would provide a simple church with a copy of the Culture of the Few for everyone in a small Simple Church.

$600 - Ministry School: 40 Copies

The Culture of the Few was written with would-be world changers in mind.  There is a movement of ministry schools that have sprung up across the country that focus on developing these young leaders for life and ministry.  I am excited to share the Culture of the Few as a tool with many of our friends who lead these schools and internships.  A gift of $600 would provide forty students with access to this book that was written for them.

$1,500 - Seminary Cohort: 100 Copies

While the book was primarily written to empower everyday followers of Jesus to impact their culture, I have had several leaders express their belief that the Culture of the Few will help the next generation of church leaders develop a Christ centered sense of mission.  It is our heart to sow 100 copies of the the book into a seminary in the Pittsburgh region where we have some relationships.  A gift of $1,500 would allow us to make that gift.
